Meet Vera!

I found Vera at the the weekend! She is my new bust, (we'd all like that wouldn't we??!!) ready to help out at handm@de Oxford. You have to admit, she has a great figure!

Vera.

Also, this weekend, I finished some dimensional fulling on a scarf, made for the lady that created No 1 son's pirate birthday cake. Its a vintage mohair blend, and I'm pleased with the results, so a few of these will make it to handm@de I'm sure. Kindly modelled by Vera of course...

All comments gratefully received as ever! Onwards now to my next project which I think will be a little scarflette!

Im currently trying out some prototypes, and will post any worth a mention, with the hope that fellow bloggers will say whether or not they'd buy something like it...

Still here...

Ive not been around for ages, as I'm so busy just now. Ive got a 5000 word essay to finish for my Masters, work of course, and looking after the littleys means Ive even been too tired for knitting!

Good woolly news came back from both Scandinavia and the Scottish highlands I'm pleased to report. The scottish stuff wa spun and dyed in situ so very exciting! I can't upload photos just now unfortunately, but they will follow I'm sure.

Bad news is that ubelievably, our little littleys buggy was stolen from outside our house last week. Maybe I'm naive, but WHO would stoop so low? It felt vey personal and apart from the cost to ourselves, I'm quite upset about it. I can only hope that what goes around comes around. Honestly.

Woolly update!

As promised some long overdue pics! Firstly the bobbly tweedy bits.
Im pleased with the way this has felted. It is made from very reasonably priced heather tweed from here.
Next, a couple of pics of a recent scarf made from some vintage mohair mix. Ive used a drop stitch to create different sized random spacings. I'm not sure I like it! Some days I do, some I dont! Any comments are welcome as always.

Finally, just to prove I'm not the only one creating in our house, I'm very pleased to present the artwork of littley #1 - bear in mind he is 2 years, 9 months. Its his first ever recognisable picture and Ithink it's great!!!!

Lazy blogger...

Being back to work means I'm super tired and haven't been fulfilling blogging duties! Im making this a short one, as Ive not got any lovely piccies to show yet, but this week I received the smashing news that woolly (2 l's, no e!) goodness is coming my way from my sisters scandinavian travels. My Mum and Dad have been in Scotland which is also a woolly haven, so strict instructions to purchase anything vaguely sheepy have been made - I'm awaiting good yarn news from there also! My problem might be using it - I like looking at it all in my stash too much sometimes!!!

Ive been making some tweedy felty bobbly numbers this week with some lovely Scottish wool I got online and Im pleased with the results so far. Pics to follow I promise!
